Graduation Party Tips
June will be here before you realize it. Our Canopies, Tables and Chairs are already booking up for many
of the weekends for graduation parties. We recommend reserving your party items as soon as possible! We do
require 50% of the total up front as a deposit when you make your reservation. This is non-refundable and will go
towards the rental. If someone were to cancel their canopy at the last minute, the people who we told "Sorry, all of our
canopies are reserved that weekend!" are not going to call us back! So there are no cancellations.
Here is some information that will help you in deciding exactly what you need for your party. One of the first
things to remember about graduation parties is that people come and go and most likeley will not all be
there at the exact same time. A common sized order for a graduation party is a 20'x20' canopy, which has
enough room for six 8' banquet tables or four 5' round tables. The banquet tables will give you more seating
(48-56 people), but the round tables makes it easier for everyone to see eachother with less seating (32-40 people).
We are more than happy to accomodate your larger party with a 20'x30' or 20'x40' tent.
When deciding what canopy to go with the most important factor is going to be where you want to put it. The cheaper,
easier tents to setup are called rope and pole canopies and they must be staked into the grass. Generally you need 5'
in each direction around the tent for the ropes and stakes, so for a 20'x20' tent you would need a 30'x30' flat area
of your lawn to set it up on. Also, the stakes that are pounded into the ground are 2' long, so beware of underground
sprinkler systems and utilities that may be in the way. Alternatively, if you want to have your canopy on your driveway
or on a hard surface, we also have frame canopies. They are designed to be setup anywhere and usually look
a bit fancier than rope and pole canopies, but are also more expensive. We use 55 gallon barrels filled with water to
secure them, so it does need to be within 100 feet of a water source.
With all of our canopies you have the option of setting it up yourself and saving money or having us come out and set
it up and take it down (The 20'x40' frame being an exception). Our advice is that rope and pole canopies are
excellent for do it yourselfers. Frame canopies are more complicated and we recommend that you have us come out
and set it up. Keep in mind that delivery and pickup charges are seperate and in addition to canopy setup and
takedown charges. Also you are responsible for moving and setting up your own tables and chairs. We deliver them
from our garage to your garage, or anywhere within 10 feet of our truck. We will setup your canopy in your backyard
but we do not carry all your tables and chairs to your back yard. We hope this information makes your decision a bit
easier when it comes time to place your order. Please give us a call 952-432-6343.
